Board of Education Re-Election Campaign
Advocate for Children (Court Appointed Special Advocate)
Three years ago, when I first decided to run for the Board of Education, I reflected on where I put my time, energy, and purpose. At that time, I had two roles that allowed me to combine my passion for education with my commitment to advocating for children: serving as PTA and Parent Teacher Council President for more than six years, and volunteering as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for foster children. Both experiences shaped my belief in the importance of advocacy, support, and ensuring that every child has what they need to thrive.
As a CASA, I was often the one consistent adult in a child’s life during circumstances beyond their control. I worked to understand their unique situations and advocated for their best interests both inside and outside of the courtroom—frequently serving as an educational advocate to ensure their learning needs were met. That role reinforced for me how critical it is that every child’s voice is heard and every family feels supported. Now, as I seek another three-year term on the Board of Education, I bring not only these experiences but also three years of direct service on the Board itself. I’ve worked hard to listen to families, support our educators, and ensure strong opportunities for every learner in Cranford. I want to continue putting my knowledge, my experience, and my dedication to work—so that together, we can keep building schools where every student feels safe, valued, and prepared for the future.
