Role As A Board Member
Committee Leadership & Involvement
Over the past three years, I have had the privilege of serving on a wide range of Board committees, including Finance, Technology, Curriculum, Guidance & Student Affairs, Policy, Extra-Curricular Activities, PR/Communications, School Safety and Wellness, and as Alternate on the Union County Educational Services Commission. Serving on these committees has given me a deep understanding of the many facets of our district—from academic programming and student support services to fiscal management, technology, and school safety. This breadth of involvement reflects my commitment to every aspect of student life and ensures that I am actively engaged in decisions that impact all learners. The knowledge I have gained about our district’s strengths, opportunities, and priorities allows me to make informed, thoughtful decisions, and I am eager to continue leveraging this experience to guide policies and initiatives that support every student’s growth, success, and well-being.
Proven Academic Success
Over the past three years, I have been proud to serve on a Board that represents a district consistently recognized for academic excellence. Cranford Public Schools demonstrate high graduation rates, strong state test performance, and national recognition, including the College Success Award and Cranford High School’s distinction as a Gold with Access AP School Honor Roll recipient (CHS has over 20+ AP options). These accomplishments reflect the dedication of our teachers, the commitment of our students, and the support of our community. At the same time, I know that academic success means more than test scores—it requires balancing rigorous coursework with the social-emotional well-being of every student and ensuring that each child, regardless of background or ability, feels supported, valued, and included. As a Board member, I have supported the expansion of programs at Cranford High School that allow students to earn college credit across multiple disciplines before graduation. These programs give students the chance to experience college-level work, build confidence, and explore whether a particular field is the right path for them. In addition to gaining valuable skills and knowledge, students earn credits that provide a meaningful head start on their journey. By championing these programs, the Board helps ensure that every student has the tools, guidance, and experience needed to succeed beyond high school, whether they continue on a college path or pursue other career opportunities. At the same time, I recognize that not every student will follow a college-bound path. It is equally important that we provide meaningful learning experiences for students pursuing trade schools, technical programs, and other career-focused pathways. By supporting vocational training, hands-on learning, and career exploration, we are meeting students where they are and providing pathways that match their interests and strengths. As I seek another term, I remain committed to sustaining Cranford’s tradition of excellence while expanding individualized support and inclusive opportunities, so that every student can thrive and achieve their full potential.
